PanAm Books welcomes authors to submit their work for a Flight Check, an inexpensive way to have an experienced editor assess their writing. Though our goal is to give voice to creative writers, we do not accept all submissions. As with traditional publishing, where the publisher pays the expenses and is therefore very selective, we are discriminating about the projects we take on, so put your best foot forward when submitting your sample chapters.
In your three-paragraph pitch letter submitted with your sample chapters, describe your book in a way to capture the editor’s attention. Also, state your goals in publishing, and include a brief bio. Polish your writing, and proofread and format your work. Treat your submission like a job interview—it could land you with a career as a writer.
